The Profile of Dr. Lukman Hakim, S.Pd., M.M., The Principal of MAN 1 Bandar Lampung
Lukman Hakim, usually called Lukman by his colleagues or Pak Kamad (Mr. Headmaster) by his subordinates, was born in Gading Rejo, in 1970. He is the 2nd child of 6 children from the couple of H. Syamsul Hadi, father, and Hj Zainab, mother. He grew up in Waykanan, a district area located in the province of Lampung, where he spent his childhood very joyfully with his little friends.
After graduating from public elementary school, SD Negeri Mojokerto Waykanan, in 1984, he continued his study to public junior high school, SMP Negeri 1 Banjit, and finished in 1987. At the same year he was admitted as a student at SMA Negeri 1 Bukit Kemuning and graduated in 1990. Then Lukman continued his study to Diploma 3 program majoring Physics Education at UNILA and graduated in 1993. Afterwards he accomplished the next level of education, undergraduate program, in 1998 with the same major at the same university. Not satisfied, he thereafter continued his schooling to master program majoring Master of Management at University of Bandar Lampung and graduated in 2020. The man who likes to grow plants a lot is now completing his doctoral program at UIN Raden Intan Lampung by taking Management of Islamic Education study program.
Lukman usually starts his day by waking up very early in the morning, even before dawn. He then does night prayers in a mosque near his house till the dawn prayer time comes. After praying he recites the Holly Qur’an and does dhikr. When breakfast time comes, he has breakfast with all family members. This is done to generate a warm atmosphere in the family. He then goes to office also early in the morning. People often see his car is already in the parking lot before others come to school. Apparently he does morning exercise by running around the large and quiet school area. He does it to maintain his health. He does his duty at or outside the school till very late in the afternoon or even evening.
The principle that Lukman always keeps in life is ‘My duty is my consecration to Allah’. This makes his life more meaningful because everything he does is worship-oriented to Him, even for the slightest matter.
